Mental Health Ambassador Program

Positive Results Center’s Mental Health Ambassador Program is a paid 12 week workforce development and leadership initiative designed for high school students 14 to 18 and young adults ages 18 to 27 from Black and Brown communities. In response to the rising mental health crisis impacting our communities, PRC equips the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and lived experience needed to become advocates, peer leaders, and change agents.

Through culturally grounded education, art-based learning, and peer leader and expert-led workshops, participants deepen their understanding of trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the social and economic factors that shape mental health outcomes. Ambassadors learn how stigma develops, how systems impact care, and how healing can be community-centered and culturally responsive.

The program is intentionally structured as a workforce development pipeline. Participants receive stipends, build facilitation and public speaking skills, practice peer mentorship, and gain hands-on experience designing and leading community awareness workshops. By the end of the 12 weeks, each cohort delivers an in-person mental health education workshop, strengthening both their professional confidence and their impact.

The Mental Health Ambassador Program reflects PRC’s commitment to healing, economic empowerment, and leadership development. We invite young adults who are ready to grow, lead, and serve to apply for the next cohort and become part of a movement advancing mental wellness in Black and Brown communities.
