Self-Love Journal Club
Welcome to the Self-Love Journal Club, a free, virtual healing circle for Black women who have experienced trauma and are seeking a soft place to land. This space was created so we can slow down, breathe deeply, and tend to ourselves in the company of sistahs who understand the weight we carry. In a world that often demands so much while offering very little care in return, this circle centers rest, reflection, and affirmation as essential practices for healing and resilience. Through guided journal prompts, quiet writing time, and sacred conversations, participants are invited to reconnect with their inner wisdom and receive genuine care from the community. Rooted in culturally responsive care, this space affirms the beauty, brilliance, and wholeness that has always lived within us.
The Self-Love Journal Club is facilitated by Vanessa Rochelle Lewis, Director of Education at the Positive Results Center and author of Reclaiming UGLY. With warmth, humor, and deep compassion, Vanessa creates a nurturing environment where every voice is honored and participants can share, reflect, and be witnessed with tenderness and respect. We gather every 1st and 3rd Monday from 5:00–7:00 PM PST, beginning with a grounding ritual, followed by journaling, optional sharing, and collective affirmations. Over time, many participants feel more confident in their voice, more connected to themselves, and more supported in their healing journeys. This space welcomes all Black women, including queer, trans, and non-binary Black women. You are safe here. You belong here. We already love you.
